Well, we had our first DNF of the season this week.  We drew a 17 in the pill draw, landing us the pole in the first heat, and finished sixth.  We started tenth in the feature and were holding onto eleventh until bad luck struck again.  Just a few laps into the feature, a car was stopped between one and two, we went low instead of high to get around it and nudged it with the right front.  A piece of metal bracing from the center of our stock radiator wrapped around the front of the fan and punctured the radiator.  So we had to park the car and watch the rest of the feature from the trailer.  On the upside, though, this is one of three weeks without a flat right front tire.
We've spent a lot of time in the garage the last couple of weeks.  There was an unexpected head change because of a broken lifter boss and a carburetor change because so much fuel was shooting through the vent that it looked like Old Faithful.  We changed the transmission and rear end gear yet again, trying for that perfect gear ratio.  A lot of work has also been done to try and get the handling fixed.  We changed rotors and brake pads before last week, and one of those new brake pads was the key factor in our flat right front in warm-ups last week.  One of the clips came off the back of the front pad, the pad fell off and the tire was punctured.  Many thanks to Devon and Keith for running out to get the parts to get the brakes fixed for the heat race.  For this week, we changed the steering rack and did some more brake work.  We worked on the toe, but will probably have to fix that again after our little on-track incident.  We put the car back on scales and tried to work on the weight distribution as well.  The handling still isn't quite right, and we're looking for a little more power on the start and coming out of the corner, but we'll get that radiator changed and be back at the track next week.  Once again, we want to extend many thanks to Jay, Brett, and Keith for all of their help in the garage and at the track.

When are we going to get to see some in-car video this season?
